"I applaud the Greenlawn American Legion for bringing this beautifully decorated 'Old Glory Flag Box' to schools in our communities for collection of used flags, so we can be sure that American flags are disposed of properly," Legislator Stern said. "The Old Glory Flag Box serves as a reminder of our freedoms, and of those who have fought and continue to fight to protect our way of life and our great nation.
"I applaud the Marines Dick Tartaglia and Norman Taylor for beautifully painting and refurbishing an old mailbox for collection of used flags and the Elwood VFW for placing the box at its post and for placing an additional box at Huntington Town Hall, so we can be sure that American flags, the symbol of our great nation, are disposed of properly," Legislator Stern said.
